The idea of god is individualistic. My non god or your god are both existing paradoxically. Faith drives us (or not) here. The idea that we have to do good to get into heaven is pretty absurd if you ask me. We should be good by nature. Good is also individualistic if you think about it. When we think beyond common morality (Don't kill, steal etc.) we find that the perception of good is altering via acculturation. For example in some cultures, distant ones at that, cannibalism is widely accepted and practiced. Also what about paganism? Animal sacrifice? Human sacrifice? Can we call these immoral and bad because they are unpracticed by our devout populous of Christian values? Who's to say that I won't see a Pagan or a Cannibal in heaven (barring that it exists and that I can get there)? We cannot judge our values based on the wrongs of other religious or cultural viewpoints. They may think it is completely insane to dunk a baby underwater shortly after its birth! (see baptism). It may not be as extreme as eating people or sacrificing them but Christianity is a pretty conservative religion.

cannibalism!
The writers of Christianity used its conservative practice to round up the masses. It was less involved then much religions because all you had to do was worship! Go to church, sing a hymn or 42, pray before bed, stay good, and confess when you're not. Pretty simple stuff there, no need for a sacrifice because the theology of god kind of shifted from we must fear this god to god thinks we're alright. This brings me to the modern theology of god (via a loose overview). Today we are taught that god loves us. Also that god is all knowing, all kind and everywhere (omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent). This brings up some questions that I have for Christianity.

Michaelangelo's depiction of god.
So, Christianity, about that god guy...
Why do i have to pray? If god is everywhere, all knowing and all powerful why do i have to ask him a question? Why must i beg for his salvation if he is all good? If i have to pray for it and be good for it wouldn't that make his help an act of mercy? By the aforementioned logic would that make the denial of gods assistance an unmerciful act? Isn't that malicious by nature? Why do i even have to ask if he is all knowing? Omniscience by nature is basically knowing the answer before it is asked? If god can see everything cant he see that I need him and will just answer my question without me asking it? Seems as though this god is contradictory at best. This reminds me of another argument..hmm.. oh yeah i remember now! its the Epicurean view of the shortcomings of god! Here is a quote from Epicurus concerning god.
“Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able?
Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing?
Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing?
Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him God?”
Makes sense right? Christianity's biggest confusion is on its explanation of evil. Or lack thereof. So i ask this: If god is always there and all powerful and all knowing then honestly why must I be good to get into heaven? Who sets the standard of good? For me good could be living a hedonistic life of drugs, sex and debotchery. As long as I don't kill another out of impulse I'll see you in the clouds. Maybe in your mind I'm going to hell but in my own I'm going to heaven. Which brings me to my final point. Maybe even heaven is individualistic. My heaven and how I get there is different from your heaven. Using ontology I can depict my idea of heaven and you can depict yours and I can assure you they differ. Remove the media view of heaven as a kingdom in the clouds and forge your own heaven. Life your life with no regrets and I assure you'll get to heaven weather that be a castle in the sky or an endless stretch of beach on the central new jersey shore, the heaven you seek after is a fabrication of your own mind. It is your reward for a life lived well. So go out and be alive, meet as many people as you can and make everyday worthwhile and you will get to heaven.
Just to clear the air I am a Christian by birth and a skeptic by belief. I did not mean any offense by anything I said here and feedback is greatly encouraged.
Cheers.
